LEXINGTON – It’s a silent auction, but organizers of this year’s Lexington Bryan Elementary School fundraiser are not being quiet about the evening of families and community members coming together to support the school.

Event coordinator Sara Neben said the fundraiser is set for Thursday, Jan. 28 at the Bryan Elementary cafeteria and is open to the community. Preview of auction items begins at 6 p.m., with bidding taking place from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

“We’re excited about this year’s fundraiser, as Bryan Elementary School families have donated a variety of items, services and food,” Neben said. “Each class has put together something special to offer for sale.” She said movie tickets, yard ornaments, cheese cakes, tanning sessions, T-shirts, scrap booking supplies and horseback riding lessons are just a few of the goods and services that will be offered through the silent auction. Classroom projects include themed baskets of educational items, dinosaur, princess, Valentine’s Day, kitchen gadgets, coffee and chocolate.

“I’m getting more items and classroom project baskets each day,” Neben said. “It’s looking like we will have something for everybody.”

She said refreshments would be served throughout the evening.

“We’re planning on serving cookies, coffee and orange drink to all who attend,” Neben said. “Besides raising money for our school, I’m hoping people come and see what a wonderful school we have. It should be a fun evening.”
