April 15, 2014

Mr. Connot's Biology classes just finished examining ecosystems.  This unit was spent defining an ecosystem, demonstrating the flow of energy in an ecosystem, and understanding how different materials are cycled through an ecosystem.  The students monitored the interactions of the species found at Plum Creek Park and noted the communities present.  Using the organisms they discovered, they illustrated the flow of energy through that ecosystem.  The three consecutive days spent in the park ranged anywhere from 30 degrees with wind and rain to 80 degrees and a few sunburns.  Typical April in Nebraska.
