Romeo and Juliet

October 28, 2013

Mrs. Polacek's English classes are studying William Shakespeare's ROMEO and JULIET.  We've discussed things like feuds, arranged marriages, what constitutes love, and if they believe in love at first sight.  Students also discussed how families' approval or disapproval would affect a relationship.

An amazing Shakespeare factoid is that he is responsible for 2,000 words that we use in the English language today.  The Bard's language has been challenging, but most students have risen to the challenge.

We're looking forward to analyzing the movies by Zeffirelli (1968) and Luhrmann (1996).
