March 12, 2015

As a math department at LHS we would like all of you to take some time and celebrate national Pi day.   Pi (is the Greek letter π) and is used in mathematics to represent a constant.  Pi has been calculated to over a trillion digits beyond its decimal point. It is an irrational number that continues on infinitely without repetition.

Therefore this Saturday, March 14th isn’t just your average Pi day it is an “Epic Pi Day”.  It only happens every 100 years the date is 3-14-15 with a time of 9:26.53.  This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime event for everyone.  We hope that you enjoy the special day.
