Reading Intervention

September 30, 2014

READ 180 is a reading intervention program used at the high school in the Reading Skills classes.  It is the most researched reading intervention program in the world, has been around for over 15 years, and over 60,000 students have been impacted worldwide.  The students enrolled in the program receive instruction in three different forms: Topic Software, consumable workbooks (rBooks), and modeled & independent reading.  Students are enrolled in the class based on MAP scores and they are allowed to exit when they test proficient either on the MAP test or the READ 180 placement test.  Over the past four years this program has proven that reading intervention is not only needed at the secondary level, it can make an impact on student test scores.
