Walking Tour

September 17, 2015

Mrs. Gydesen's 4th period Housing class enjoyed a warm walking tour of Lexington homes located around the high school. A unit on Architecture in America lead to the tour to identify building types, roof styles and materials. The students found that Gable roof styles dominated the neighborhood. Other common styles were Hip and Gambrel.  Advantages and disadvantages were discussed as well as roofing materials.  The students paused long enough in the hot August sun for a picture in front of a storage unit displaying a common roof type. Can you identify it?
