Bienvenue à la classe de français.----

French IV is fulfilling their honors credits by writing research papers.  The subjects vary from The Eiffel Tower to the famous Impressionistic painter Claude Monet.  The following fun facts about the Eiffel Tower were taken from the article “Fun Facts about the Eiffel Tower” by Ron Cowen found in Science News For Students. It took 2 years, 2 months and 5 days to build the Eiffel Tower for the World’s Fair of 1889.  It weighs approximately 10,000 metric tons.  It has 1, 665 steps, and contains 20,000 light bulbs.  The 18,000 parts of the tower are held together with 2.5 million rivets.  It is painted every 7 years with 50 tons of paint.  It takes 25 painters 18 months using 1,500 brushes to paint the “Iron Lady.”

Bonne journée des classes de Français.
