CBI Classroom

September 21, 2017

In the CBI (Community Based Instruction) classroom we are implementing a new curriculum called Unique Learning System. It is a Kindergarten through transition program and it is specifically designed for life skills programs. The program is differentiated to meet the learning levels of all the students in the classroom.  Lessons include Reading, Writing, Math, Science and Social Studies and each lesson has a point where it can be related to real life situations.  For example, the math lessons this month included following a recipe and actually making the recipe.  All of the lessons are reinforced with symbol pictures to give kids those visuals to aid in memory and quicker learning.  So far we have enjoyed using the program.
