Family Genogram Analysis

May 10, 2019

Recently in Sociology of the Family, members of the class created multi-generation genogram. The genogram, similar to a family tree, also depicts relationships, medical history, and other significant information related to their family and relatives. For example, students tracked topics such as level of education, mental health concerns, physical health concerns, marriages, personality, and military service. Then students analyzed the material looking for repetitive patterns. Often the knowledge allows one to be more proactive in handling their own lives when understanding generational traits that are passed on.
