 Anatomy Class

Listening to the music coming from the anatomy classes you would begin to wonder what Achy Breaky Heart, Unbreak my Heart, Don’t Go Breakin My Heart, have to do with anatomy. Once you enter, you catch on quickly. Anatomy and Physiology students have spent the last 2 weeks learning about the structures of the heart such as; the semilunar valves, atrioventricular valves, atria, ventricles, PQRST waves. The heart is one organ that you never want to have stop for any reason. Learning about the structures of the heart and how the heart functions to keep you alive are at the center of our unit on the cardiovascular system. After learning about these structures, they will dissect several hearts from different mammals to see their similarity in structure and compare them to the models of human hearts. So when you see the anatomy classes dissecting this week don’t think of them as being heartless or uncaring or that their hearts are three sizes too small. Listen to the music and remember- our hearts will go on and on.
