Industrial Revolution in American History I

February 12, 2018

Over the last week and for the next two weeks, the freshman American History I CT classes will continue learning about the industrial revolution of the late 1800’s.  Students in this group have been diving into this revolution with a video series titled The Men Who Built America, in conjunction with supplemental assignments on how a Monopoly is formed, how the government got involved in regulating businesses, and forming their own new ideas that they think would have been beneficial during that time.  This unit is interactive and fun for the students.  They enjoy having a visual representation of the amazing work and effort that was put in by men such as John D. Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, J.P. Morgan, and Henry Ford.

As we inch forward through history the students are able to relate more and more to the events that we are learning about.  This unit is one of the first that we really get to see their eyes light up, learning about things that still impact them to this day.
