LHS Entrepreneurship Class

October 24, 2016

Two weeks ago students in my Entrepreneurship class had the opportunity to participate in the Enactus New Venture Adventure. Participants worked in groups of students from various local area schools to come up with a new product in one day. They negotiated leases from real estate agents and presented loan applications to real bankers. Other projects for the teams ranged from creating their mission statements to marketing jingles. At the end of the day, 11 different groups presented their business plans to a panel of judges consisting of local business leaders and UNK professors. Groups in three separate categories were awarded the winners of the contest and I am proud to say that Lexington students were a part of each winning group. It was so fun for me as a teacher to watch my students put what we have learned in class into action and lead their teams through the various challenges of the day.
