LHS Yearbook

January 9, 2018

The start of a new year brings a time of reflection. The yearbook is currently ahead of its average pace this could be because students attended the Nebraska High School Press Associations Summer Workshop.  Nine of the students attended the three-day workshop. During their time there they learned current trends, elevated layout design, how to better their photography, videography and editorial leadership skills.

Before the camp the yearbook staff was asked two questions. What should the theme be for the yearbook this year, and why? Their initial response was unusual, Iconic. Their reason to why they felt Iconic. was a good theme for some might seem simple, "our diversity is what makes Lexington iconic period," said editor-in-chief, MaKenzie Johnson. When asked how they would implement the theme the staff said they wanted to put three languages on every spread; something that has not been done in the past eight years.

Unbeknownst to them how iconic this year would be the theme has been a perfect fit for the 2017-2018 school year. From the juniors changing their class color during clash of the classes to the total solar eclipse, 2017 has been quite a year.

Students and parents can still purchase a yearbook for $40 in Mrs. Brockmoller's room or online at https://yearbookforever.com/#school/2762/2018
