Resolving Conflicts and the Immigrant Experience

March 27, 2018

In our American History sections we have been lucky enough to enjoy history in the form of creating iMovies about the great inventions of the late 1800s and creating presentations about different immigrant groups during the late 1800s and early 1900s.  We are now beginning to show the experiences that immigrants went through at such destinations as Ellis Island and Angel Island.

In the Sociology of the Family class, we are beginning to work through learning the positives and negatives of conflict resolution.  Shortly after we return from Easter Break, they will be performing small group skits on how best to handle different scenarios and how conflict can get in the way of resolution in those scenarios.

I would like to give a special shout out to my Foundations of Leadership freshmen crew who blew me away working with elementary-schoolers who visited as they shared about the country of France.  They made me more proud than I could have imagined!

I look very forward to continuing to serve the students and finishing the school year stronger than we started.
