Solving Oblique Triangles

March 16, 2018

Students in Mrs. Oberg's Trigonometry classes are solving oblique triangles by using the Law of Sines and the Law of Cosines. Students have to determine which law to use based on the given information. If they use the Law of Sines, they need to determine how many solutions there are.  There could be one, two, or none. Students use the info to find all the missing parts of the triangles. There are many jobs that require the use of these laws such as architects, engineers, surveyors, navigators, and computer programmers.
