Students Tackle the Senses

December 20, 2018

For the last two weeks the Psych of the Child students have worked on their final presentation. Throughout the class students learn about the development of children from conception to their toddler years. For their final, students were assigned a sensory processing disorder. From there they completed research with their group about the assigned sensory processing disorder and learned about different activities to help those with an SPD. For their final, students presented both their research and an activity.  From blowing bubbles to sorting beads both the presenters and the audience were busy. One of the class favorites was paper plate dancing.  Although it is hard for us to understand the impact of a sensory processing disorder the students gained knowledge and tools to help them understand themselves and others.
