Tessellations

Tessellation - an arrangement of shapes closely fitted together in a repeated pattern without gaps or overlapping.

Mrs. Vrbka's Honors Geometry students have spent the last couple weeks working on tessellations.  Students started with a single square or hexagon and had to transform it into a new shape.  Once those new shapes were designed students had to tessellate their new shape on an entire 8x11 piece of paper making sure the details on each design were the exact same.  Students then finished off their project by coloring and giving their tessellation a unique title.
