Vrbka’s Geometry Honors

December 19, 2017

Have you ever tried to balance a triangle shaped piece of paper on a pencil?  If you haven’t - you should try it!

Mrs. Vrbka’s Honors Geometry students have been learning about properties of triangles in their last chapter before break.  They have learned about perpendicular and angle bisectors, medians and altitudes, Pythagorean Theorem, and special right triangles.

In order to balance that triangle shaped piece of paper, students need to know what a median of a triangle is and the point where those medians cross.  That point is called a centroid. Once able to find that centroid of the triangle, the paper should balance like magic!!
