It's Carnival TIme

March 3, 2017

At the end of February, many Spanish and non-Spanish speaking countries, celebrate carnival,  right before lent. In the Spanish classes we spent some time researching about this celebration in different countries around the world. We also draw carnival posters and we had a couple of after school activities related to the Galician carnival, the region of Spain where I come from.

Some eighth graders, Emily , Kennia  and Kimberly built some elaborated “peliqueiro” masks.

On Tuesday, the 28th, the last day of carnival, some Spanish students and their families shared the experience of cooking “filloas”, the Galician version of the French crepes.
