Music Appreciation

The 6TH GRADE MUSIC APPRECIATION classes have been learning about instruments and what family they are each in including brass, string, percussion and woodwind families.  The students have learned to identify instruments by sight and sound.  The students also choose an instrument to do a power point presentation on.  They have 10 questions to address on the power point and then present their findings to the class.

7TH GRADE MUSIC APPRECIATION students study some of the great composers of the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods including Bach, Handel, Mozart and Beethoven.  At the end of the quarter students present a power point to the class on one of the musicians from these musical eras.

8TH GRADE MUSIC APPRECIATION students learn about some of the great musicians of the past including Elvis Presley, The Beach Boys, The Beatles, Johnny Cash, Selena and Michael Jackson.  At the end of the 9 weeks students choose any musical group past or present and do a power point presentation for the class.

HONOR CHOIR meets twice yearly.  They perform around Christmas and also in the spring.  Any student in grades 6-8 can participate in Honor Choir.
