What is Sixpence?

Funded by Nebraska’s Early Education Endowment Grant Program. It provides services for prenatal moms and families with children birth to 36 months.

A book bag lending program for children

Three Home visits a month
Personalized, one-on-one help for you and your baby
Information about child development
Help creating quality parent-child interactions
Help finding resources for your family’s unique needs

Who can Participate?

Priority is given to families that meet some of the following criteria:

Child was born prematurely
or at low birth weight.
Your family’s income qualifies you for participation for federal free or reduced lunch program.
Parents are younger than 18 years old.
You have not completed high school.
A language other than English is the primary means of communication in your home.

How will this Help my Child?

Your child will receive professional support in social, emotional, and language development.
A strong foundation of learning for the child’s success in school.
As a parent, you will learn how to support your child’s language development and pre-literacy education.
