Special Education Highlights – By Mrs. Kayli Sauer

Hello! My name is Kayli Sauer, and I am one of the special education teachers here at Lexington High School. I am excited to share some of the fun and meaningful things happening in my classes this quarter!

1st Period: LEXcoin Token System
In 1st period, we introduced a classroom management system called the LEXcoin Token System. Students earn daily points for participation, self-control, and respect. The class worked hard and saved up enough points to earn a special class breakfast. It was a great celebration of their teamwork and effort!

Career Exploration: Mock Interviews
In Career Exploration, students recently participated in mock interviews. Each student is researching a career they are personally interested in, completed a job application, and then practiced interviewing with feedback from another staff member. While they discovered they still have more to learn, students said the experience was valuable and helped them understand how to confidently talk about themselves in the interview process.

Senior Transitions: Preparing for the Future
In Senior Transitions, students are busy preparing for life after graduation. They are building resumes, writing personal statements, and collecting references. So, be ready—some of them might be contacting you soon!
✨ Looking Ahead
I am so proud of the progress my students are making across all of these classes. We are learning exciting things each day, and I can’t wait to see each of them reach their fullest potential!
