Algebra 1A - Mrs. Carly Converse
In Algebra 1A students have been learning about solving equations. Solving equations is the base of Algebra, and is used in all math classes and often science classes as well. Students have worked through various variations of solving equations. Equations with one variable, multiple steps, absolute value, and proportions. Students have also done exploration activities that required problem-solving through questions they have not been explicitly taught. They were able to use the steps they had learned to problem solve through these questions successfully.
Algebra 1B and Pre-Algebra students have been learning how to solve expressions with exponents. They have learned how to use both positive and negative exponents. Students gained the ability to simplify multiplication and division expressions containing exponents. They were able to apply this knowledge to radical and exponential form (Algebra 1B) and scientific notation (Pre-Algebra).
