The Periodic Table can be overwhelming at first glance, but as I told my students: “This resource is gonna be your best friend and the biggest cheat sheet you are offered in school”

My Chemistry and Chemistry Honors classes are beginning their projects where each student will have an individual element. They will be completing a “birth certificate” to identify the key characteristics that make their element special and sharing with their fellow classmates. 

 

Understanding the properties of the unique elements will help the students later in the course be able to predict how they will bond or react with other elements.”
