Patriot Team 8th-Graders Reflect on September 11, 2001
This September, our 8th-grade Social Studies students on the Patriot Team engaged in a meaningful study of the events of September 11, 2001, exploring how the tragedy continues to shape American society and government.
As part of their learning, students listened to stories from survivors and first responders, gaining a personal perspective on the impact of that day. These powerful narratives helped students move beyond the textbook to connect with history in a deeper way.
To honor the experiences they studied, students created heartfelt tributes, reflecting both their understanding and their respect. Their work serves as a reminder of the importance of remembering and sharing personal stories to ensure history lives on for future generations.
This project was guided by Ms. Ramirez, who provided students with the opportunity to not only learn about history, but also to reflect on its continuing significance in today’s world.
